Baking soda is one of the oldest remedies because it contains sodium bicarbonate, an original antacid. It should however not be used regularly because it can seriously upset the acidity levels in the stomach, therefore affecting digestion. Another good way to overcome acidity in the stomach is chewing gum to stimulate the production and the swallowing of the saliva.
